Thursday, April 30 information

ATTENTION DANCERS: We will be having a dress rehearsal at the gym as scheduled. Please come with your hair up in a bun or pony tail so you are prepared to dance. Wear the appropriate tights and shoes as needed. You will be directed from there at practice by the group mother responsible for your class. Please remove all nail polish, jewelry, rubberbands on wrists, NO Gum. No Underwear (under costume), No Lipstick.

ATTENTION ORCHESTRA: Rehearsal is at STARS 6:30-8:00, at 8:00 we are going to load the trailer to move everything over to the gymnasium for Saturday. We could really use your help.

ATTENTION DANCERS:

The 5 Pointe Dance Company (8 girls and Nathaniel Carter) will have rehearsal at STARS this Saturday morning, April 25, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served beforehand at Mrs. Peterson's at 7:30 a.m.

ALL DANCERS - Due to the extensive amount of work put into this production, we are fortunate to have an opportunity to do an additional performance! The extra performance will be on Friday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Houston Middle School Gymnasium. If you are unable to attend this performance, please let Mrs. Copling or Mrs. Peterson know ASAP, so that they may get your parts covered.

Also, to clear up any confusion and concern, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother has waved her magic wand and parents and siblings will receive free admission to the Cinderella ballet. All admission collected from the public will go toward offsetting the expenses incurred during the production.

Schedule for 4/23, 4/24, 4/25

ATTENTION MERMAID CAST AND ORCHESTRA:

TONIGHT: Cast members who are main characters, plus boys and girls who are princes & princesses need to arrive at the theater at 5:30 to get into costumes for pictures, which begin at 6:00. Boys with multiple costumes need to be in their prince costumes first to match their princesses. Cast members who are in "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" need to arrive at 6:00, and will need to put on their "Under the Sea" costumes to be ready for the full cast picture.

FRIDAY: Orchestra strings members need to be at STARS at 3:00 for rehearsal. The rest of the orchestra needs to arrive at 4:30 and be ready for the television recording. Play well, and have fun!! :)

SATURDAY: Main characters need to arrive at 12:00 as scheduled to get ready for the first show. Boys with multiple costumes need to arrive at 1:30, and cast members in "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" need to arrive at 1:45. After the second show, there will be a pizza party, so all cast and crew members can look forward to that.

ATTENTION MERMAID CAST:

If you are only in "Under the Sea", "Kiss the Girl", and singing "Fathoms Below", please arrive today at 1:45 already dressed in black. This will help relieve congestion in the costuming area.

Boys with multiple costume changes (sailors, gulls, etc.), arrive at 1:00, and meet with Mrs. Peterson.

Everyone else arrive at 12:00, as planned. 

Tonight's rehearsal - IMPORTANT INFO!

ATTENTION LITTLE MERMAID, JR. CAST:

We have a slight change in tonight's rehearsal schedule. All of the younger kids (who only appear in "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl") GET THE NIGHT OFF!!

All of the older kids need to come as planned, and be prepared to work hard. You will be working on staging of certain scenes, and doing last minute preparations for tomorrow night's opening night.

AHOY MATES! Our fabulous Executive Director be looking for a wooden rowboat for Ariel and Prince Eric to ride in during the lagoon scene. If ye have a wooden rowboat or know where one can be found, she need not be seaworthy, but please text a picture to Mrs. Peterson at 417-254-3168 ASAP, so she can check her out and see if she'll work. Costuming

ATTENTION LITTLE MERMAID JR. BOYS:

If you are a gull, sailor, etc., and you haven't already brought in your khaki pants, you need to bring them TOMORROW NIGHT (April 14) so we can measure the length needed to turn them into knickers. Remember, you're supposed to use old ones you don't mind cutting, or get some at a thrift store.

PLEASE do not forget!!

Dance schedule for Saturday, April 11

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Ball scene with the mazurka (8-11 year olds), intermediate ballet class, and dance company

The mazurka girls will be able to leave at 11:00.

SHOOTING WITH THE STARS - a 3 v. 3 basketball tournament fundraiser for The STARS Foundation.

April 18, 2015 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Houston Middle School Gymnasium. $5.00 per person to play - teams can have up to four members.

Call Cindy Bobe at 417-217-9430 for more information, or to register your 3 or 4 person team. Please register your team by April 17, and help us fill the brackets!

STARS Dancers...

Mrs. Peterson will be ordering new dance stockings. They are $4 each if anyone needs them for the concert.

Okay, STARS Students,

Here's what you've been waiting today for. Thank you for your patience while waiting for me to get home and get documents converted. The first page is the list of all the dance parts. Dancers, when you combine this list with the calendars, it should all come together for you. Orchestra and Theatre students, you are written into the same calendars (ignore page 1 and go straight to pages 2 and 3). Please note, if you click each image, the page will become big enough for you to read.

Just a Reminder:

There are no music lessons this week, April 6-10, so Mrs. Peterson can prepare the stage for The Little Mermaid. 

Everything else on the Monday schedule proceeds as planned today. Calendars for April and May will be posted this evening as soon as I can post them. Keep watching the blog and Facebook  to know where you're supposed to be and when you're supposed to be there during the next two months.
