Gardening class tonight

The STARS Foundation is having a garden class this evening (Thursday) from 7:00 to 8:00.

Art Davidson, horticulturist from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed, will be doing a match and identify class for kids, but all ages are invited.

The class will be held at STARS, 510 Main Street, Cabool.

Dearbhail Finnegan Concert

Our Irish friends did a concert for the public at the Star Theater in Willow Springs at 3:00 p.m.

They played some of our favorites from last night, plus a few new ones.

Maddie, Hannah, and Kyleigh joined them for a few numbers, including "Canon in D" that had been "Irish-ified" into the key of G.

They even did a little Ozarks fiddling!

They also played "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" and "Nearer My God to Thee".

Again, another beautiful concert, and I believe we've made some new friends in the process!

Dearbhail Finnegan Workshop

We had guests all the way from Ireland!

Dearbhail Finnegan and her husband, Robin Slater, treated us to a workshop and performance at our very own STARS Foundation building tonight!

Many students and their families were on hand for the special event. We were allowed to ask many questions - from "How long have you been playing the harp?" to "How many strings are on the harp?" to "Why did you start playing the harp?"

Robin also taught us about his special drum, and a few lucky students got to "give it a go", as Robin would say.

In addition, Dearbhail and Robin showed us slides of Ireland, and taught us a bit of Irish history. The songs they performed were connected to the Irish history that they taught about.

It was a really fun and informative evening, and we're looking forward to tomorrow's concert at the Star Theater, Willow Springs, at 3:00 p.m.

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS:

Classes for January 2 will be orchestra only 3:00-4:30 at STARS Foundation. Regular classes will resume Monday, January 7, according to schedule. Items to remember: Saturday, January 5, at 7:00 p.m. all students and families are invited to the harpist's workshop at STARS, and Sunday, January 6, all are invited to a free concert at 3:00 p.m. at Willow Springs Star Theater - First come, first served.
